We're delighted to introduce Romy!
We are delighted to introduce our colleague, Romy!
Romy, could you briefly introduce yourself?
'Hi! My name is Romy Reins. I live in Uden with my partner Marnic, our children Lowen and Gigi, and our dog Charlie. I really enjoy being with nice people, having good conversations, and a convivial atmosphere. According to Marnic, I am the ideal consumer, perhaps even a bit of a shopaholic. In my spare time, I challenge myself during CrossFit classes and enjoy going outside with the children and the dog.'
How did you end up at We R Asia?
'In 2023, I met Jasper during a Lekker Uden business evening. After a good conversation, the idea of We R Asia stuck in my mind. A few months later, the right moment had come for me to take on a new challenge. I checked to see if there were any vacancies and from the very first contact, We R Asia felt like the right place. I really wanted to be part of it and luckily I got that chance.'
What will you bring to the We R Asia team?
'I believe that every project manager has his or her own strategy and working method and that we can learn a lot from each other. With my experience, I hope to motivate my colleagues to break through patterns and continue to grow both as a team and personally. It is important to continue to critically examine every step of the project, discuss pitfalls and tackle internal and external challenges together. This benefits everyone: us as colleagues, the organisation and our customers.'
What does a typical working day at We R Asia look like for you?
'When my working day begins, that of our colleagues in China is often almost over. That's why I start by checking in on outstanding issues from China. It's great if we can talk briefly to coordinate matters, so we can both get on with our work. I also spend my days sourcing the right suppliers for our (potential) customers, contributing ideas at a strategic level and translating these into policy. I also enjoy acting as a bridge between Sales, the customer and our project managers, and coaching colleagues on their projects.'
What are you most looking forward to?
'I really enjoy contributing to the growth of the organisation and implementing new strategies. Not only does this help everyone move forward, but it is also very concrete and measurable, which is very satisfying. I also look forward to guiding the project managers in their development. Growing together and supporting each other is one of the best aspects of this job, in my opinion. I also find it very valuable to brainstorm with colleagues in similar positions. It keeps me sharp and stimulates growth on both sides.'
And finally... what is your favourite Asian food?
'Peking duck pancakes are definitely my favourite. Dim sum and maguro tataki are a close second, but honestly, 80% of the Asian menu makes me happy.'
