Stan started at We R Asia as an intern in the project management department. He now works here as a project manager and is happy to tell us a little more about himself and his work.

Stan, could you briefly introduce yourself?

“Hey! My name is Stan. Besides my work at We R Asia, I enjoy spending time with friends, having a drink or going out for the evening. At the weekends, I regularly work as an MC at parties and festivals. It's a great outlet alongside my work.”

How did Stan end up at We R Asia?

“During my Business Administration studies at Avans Academy, I had the opportunity to do my graduation internship at We R Asia. I wanted to find out whether the company would suit me with a view to the future. I quickly felt at home: the atmosphere was good and I really enjoyed working with my colleagues. When my internship ended, we had a chat and it turned out that the feeling was mutual. So I stayed, and I'm still happy about that."

What exactly do you do as a project manager?

“My work is very varied. I am involved in starting up new projects, organising transport, maintaining contact with customers and coordinating with our colleagues in Asia. That means I am involved in both logistics and project planning. No two days are the same, which is exactly what I like. It involves a lot of communication, planning and collaboration, which keeps the work nice and dynamic.”

What will a working day at We R Asia look like for you?

“My day usually starts with a chat with colleagues, after which I review ongoing projects and priorities. I often focus first on outstanding questions from our partners in China, as their working day ends earlier. After that, I work on transport schedules, answer customer questions and ensure that everything runs smoothly and on time. I also regularly start new projects or work on improvements to ongoing processes. This combination of customer contact, logistics and collaboration makes the work varied and challenging.”

What do you like most about your job?

“That I am part of an enthusiastic team in which everyone works together on great projects. I am given the space to contribute ideas, take initiative and develop myself. That motivates me every day.”

And finally... what is your favourite Asian dish?

“That's easy: spring rolls, stir-fried vegetables with chicken and noodles with lots of sambal. I usually pass on sushi, but I never say no to a good stir-fry.”
