The origin of The T Box
Robbert tells: 'The idea for the T Box originated from a joke in the private sphere. I have two young children who are always very busy and preoccupied with everything for eating during dinner time. One evening, my wife and I suggested that we should only concentrate on eating and not talk to each other anymore. While my children were still finishing their meal, my wife and I were already done. As usual, my wife asked me if I wanted a cup of tea, but this time without using any words. She made the gesture of the letter 'T' to ask me. This got me thinking later on. The letter 'T' is pronounced the same way in every country and refers to the drink tea. Isn't it funny to make a tea box in the shape of the letter 'T'? Well, that 'joke' has now turned into a product, a product patent, and so on.'
The T Box and We R Asia
'I had no prior experience in product development. Initially, I searched for a producer in China, but I soon realized that this involved certain risks. Furthermore, I didn't have the time to go to China and conduct quality checks myself. That's when I started looking for an outsourcing partner that could act as intermediaries between China and the Nederlands and/or take over the production process. That's when We R Asia quickly came into the picture.'
The added value of We R Asia mainly lay in their ability to carry out quality checks and their knowledge of the production market in China. Additionally, it was also beneficial that We R Asia spoke the language of Chinese entrepreneurs and had expertise in shipping.'
